| Emissions Model Lloyd's Register - Fairplay's Research team have developed a model for analysing exhaust emissions using detailed AIS derived vessel movements and engine emissions output data.
With great emphasis being given to the impact shipping has on the air pollution, new legislation will require ports, local authorities and ship operators to analyse and report on ship exhaust emissions. Port operators will need to monitor vessel traffic and emissions output. New ports and port expansion will need to assess the impact on the environment?
The reports provide highly detailed analysis of all shipping activities within a specific geographical region where traffic structure, traffic intensity and ships emissions are reported. The emissions assessment is directly related to the logged speed of each individual vessel and the main engine. Reports are tailored to cover a defined period and submitted on a frequency to suit the client.
Key Benefits Reports provide an accurate analysis of ship emissions for a region or port in a format which can be studied further
Emissions reporting gives ship operators, ports and local authorities the opportunity to promote their support of environmental issues
It gives ports the opportunity to review their fee structuring system to take into consideration speed to port and emissions output
Local authorities can determine the impact exhaust emissions have on the environment and take a proactive approach to future EU legislation | Fuel Consumption | NOx emissions | | | | | Fuel Cons. kg | NOx emissions kg | CO emissions kg | HC emissions kg | PM emissions kg | | Tanker | 2,696 | 235 | 10 | 8 | 6 | | Bulk carrier | 3,704 | 234 | 15 | 9 | 11 | | Container, ro-ro, reefer | 9,332 | 713 | 41 | 28 | 30 | | Passenger | 37,437 | 2,707 | 160 | 51 | 47 | | Total | 53,168 | 3,889 | 226 | 95 | 94 | | Key Features Time periods and geographical regions can be defined
Parameters to be included can be specified to include ship types, port of call, flag, age of vessel
Emission parameters can be defined and amended by users
Frequency of updates can be determined
